The match against Fir Bolgs of Ireland occurred May 24, 1979 at Tomlinson Junior High School, Fairfield CT. Fir Bolg was (is?) an old boys touring side ( In far antiquity the Fir Bolg were the rulers of Ireland (at the time called Ériu) . They were mostly over 40 (oldest 46) but they were loaded with talent. Gerry Culliton had 19 Irish caps, John Novak had 4 Caps for England almost everybody else was an Irish Trialist, Wolfhound or County rep. They had a one week tour and played us, Les Vieux, and The Gentlemen of New York. The final score in our match was 16-29 to them but it wasn't nearly that close. We were in the match for the first half while they toyed with us but we did not score in the second half. They declined to kick at goal for penalties or to covert tries.

Sandy comments: "I have no idea of the date of this photo but I suspect that it was taken at
the Easter Tournament in Baltimore due to the guest players included. Must
have been some time ago since Jeff was still suited up and Bill Aman had
dark hair. MacRae Ross is next to Chris Johnson and above me in the photo."

2005 OMOM. In the front row, wearing red shorts is Keith Davis , dad of Theresa Saul, father-in-law of George, and member of the New Zealand All Blacks in the 1950's. Keith came out of a long retirement. His last game was sometime in the late 80's, and he played a couple of strong minutes for us in both our matches. We presented him with a signed game ball.
