25th Anniversary Tour – February 2004
"Just some comments regarding our tour to Barbados. First
of all thank you to my fellow Tour Administrators – job well done. Mostly
though, thank you to each and every one of you who stepped up on the pitch.
Quick review: first game a loss, 32 - 0. We did not play as badly as the score
looks. There were many positives, and while we didn't score we were knocking
three or four times – just couldn't get it over. However, as captain, I
couldn't have been more proud of the Grey team than in our
second game. While a loss as well, 19 - 7, our opposition knew they were in a
dogfight. The ultimate compliment was paid by the "A lot of camaraderie occurred on this trip as well, which only makes the bonds of our team that much tighter. Great Rookie Show, Kangaroo Court, a real shitty practice that opened our eyes, fantastic team activities along with funny spur-of-the-moment occurrences, wives'/girlfriends' enthusiastic support, and a poignant moment when Sandy Woodard surprised all of us announcing his retirement. I can only hope in retirement from actively playing we can continue to count on Sandy's involvement in club activities for many years to come." Now enjoy some holiday snaps, courtesy of Steve
"Bomber" Tenenbaum, Bill Aman, and Tony Johnson.
