Happy New Year to all. The spring schedule is coming together nicely. Expect to see it published in the next week or two. In the meantime, here are a few off-season activities to keep in mind.
Tom and Dean are putting the finishing touches on arrangements for the 2006 season Annual Awards Banquet. This jacket-and-tie affair will be held on Saturday, January 27 at the Hartford Canoe Club on Riverside Drive in East Hartford. The bar will open around 6:00 o'clock with dinner around 7:30. Invitations will go out in the next few days. In the meantime, block off the date on your calendar and book the babysitter.
The time is here again to help with the running of the 2007 Connecticut Special Olympics at the NU Office in Simsbury. The Connecticut Grey are asked to help with the 100 meter cross-country races to be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4.
Tony Johnson asks that anyone who wishes to assist in this fun filled day (or two) of good will and a great time contact him as soon as possible at johnsaw@nu.com . Tony needs to get numbers of volunteers for each day so that he can determine if additional assistance is required to fill out the ranks of volunteers for each day. He will sign you up but he needs to know who is available and which day(s). Want more info? Contact Tony.
Hurry, hurry, hurry. Pre-registration as a volunteer guarantees you working with the group - signing up the day of the events will get you some other assignment.
Last chance to sign up for the Connecticut Grey family basketball day. UCONN Women vs. Villanova on February 24, 12:00 o'clock at the Hartford Civic Center. Tickets will cost about $20. Contact Tom Stauffer TODAY at tpstauffer@aol.com with total number of tickets requested.
